Illustration of various characters from the Transformers series, in the style of Yoji Shinkawa, who has done concept art for numerous Metal Gear Solid and Konami titles (including for the PS1 Metal Gear Solid).

The one thing I loved about the TFP transformations and whatnot is that the Transformers had great weight to it. Megatron’s transformation always felt so heavy and grandiose, versus Starscream’s was always light and graceful.

Much applauds to the animators!

Transformers: Exodus, Chapter three:

“Minimal
scarring from the acids,” Shockwave pronounced. “The energy weapons had
little effect. As is typical, Megatronus, you emerge from a battle with
few signs of ever having been in a battle. What fascinating prototypes I
could create from you.”

(a few seconds later)

Shockwave stopped in mid-reverie, blinking and returning to the real world from his imagined army of Megatron-inspired supermechs. “What?”

In conclusion, Shockwave wants to make babies with Megatron. Think of them… great big monsters. They’d conquer the world.
